How it Works - Custom Pet Portraits
1. Purchase your pet portrait from the options above – this covers the hand-painted artwork of your pet.
2. Choose the item to paint on – select a jacket, bag, or another item from the shop.
3. Or send your own item – you can also provide something you'd like your portrait painted on.
4. Your item is painted - a mockup will be sent where needed, then your item will be painted & shipped to you.
Your portrait and the item are purchased separately so you can customise your order exactly how you like.
Browse the selection of items available to purchase. These include denim jackets for adults or children, bags, wallets and other accessories.
You can also provide your own item if you have something different in mind to be painted.
Frequently Asked Questions
Most items are shipped using a tracked service by Royal Mail, some international or larger orders may be sent with a different courier. The majority of UK orders will arrive in 1-3 working days from despatch and 5-7 working days for international orders. Please always confirm if you need an item for a certain date.
We currently ship to: UK, Australia, Canada, Norway, Hong Kong SAR China, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, United States
If your country isn't listed, please drop us a message and we can confirm if we’re able to ship there and shipping rates.
Please note from 1st December 2024 I am now no longer able to ship to countries within the EU & NI due to new GPSR regulations. I am so sorry and will make an announcement if this ever changes.
You can get a full refund on any custom painted order so long as I haven't started painting. Once an item has been customised it cannot be refunded.
Any non-custom item (embroidered clothing, greeting cards, art prints) can be returned within 28 days of your order arriving. Returns will only be accepted if the items are in their original condition and opened/unworn.
Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless the return is due to a defect or error, please get in touch via email, gina@giflynndesign.com before making any return to confirm the return address.
Mailing list subscribers regularily get exclusive discount codes, as well as early access to all sales and products.
I occasionally have discounts and offers running available to everyone which will be announced on the relevant product pages and via the website heading. All discount codes or planned sales are announced on my Instagram @giflynndesign

Yes! All of the custom portraits do not include an item for painting, so if you wish to provide your own item then purchase the painting for your item and chose the portrait size and no. of pets. You then do not need to add an item from my range of items to be painted.
For shoes you need to provide your own as I do not stock these.
Please be aware you will be responsible for posting the item to me in Manchester, UK and for any import VAT or additional charges. – send me a message first if you're unsure or want to check if your item is suitable for painting.
How long does it take to paint a custom portrait? Can I have it for a certain date?
All items within the 'Custom Portrait' category have an approximate processing time listed on each item listing. These vary per item and change depending on availability and demand.
If you need an item for a certain date please let me know before ordering, I will always do my absolute best to accommodate if I can but this is dependent on my personal free time and if I can fit it in without delaying existing orders. I can create gift vouchers to give on the day if you I am unable to provide the item before an event such as a birthday.
Please note as I am a one woman team sometimes items can take longer (or shorter) than the listed timeframes. I do my best to despatch everything as suggested but please do always check before ordering if you need something by a deadline.
Jackets can be washed, however, I do not advise machine washing. I always suggest to hand wash with cool water and I provide a full aftercare sheet with this information and how best to look after your jacket.
Depending on the size of the portrait you can fit multiple pets onto a jacket, up to five. If you have more pets or want any additional designs drop me a message first and I will let you know if this is possible and if there are any additional charges.
You definitely don't have to have a cat or a dog – you can have any animal you want so long as you can provide a clear image. However, I do not offer human portraits.

What photos do you need for a custom portrait?
Clear photos will need to be provided of the pet to paint, at least one clear photo (face forward in natural light) will be needed although numerous photos are better in order to ensure the colouring is accurate. Please do not provide screenshots if possible. The better the photos the better the portrait!!

For denim I use acrylic-based fabric paint that is then heat set to make it durable and resistant. I use a number of brands depending on the colour and I have tested all of these before using them.
For leather or faux leather items I use specific leather paint, Angelus is my favourite as it is one of the most durable leather paints available. I then seal using Angelus top coats to ensure the portrait is durable and will last for years.
