PAINTED JACKET FAQ

​Can I use my own jacket?  

Yes! There is a separate listing for this which is cheaper as I minus the cost of the jacket from the listing, for child sizing you must provide your own jacket. Please be aware you will be responsible for posting the jacket to me and for any import VAT or additional charges. It is important that the jacket doesn't have any stretch and is a suitable colour for the pet you wish to have painted – send me a message first if you're unsure.

How long does take to paint a jacket? 

Jackets take 1-3 days to paint but due to the demand (thank you!) they take 4-6 weeks to be despatched.

Can I have my jacket for a certain date? 

If you need a jacket for a certain date please let me know before ordering, I will always do my absolute best to accommodate if I can but this is dependent on my personal free time and if I can fit it in without delaying existing orders, express shipping is also available if required for short turnaround jackets. I can create gift vouchers to give on the day if you I am unable to provide the jacket before an event.

What is the aftercare for a jacket, can I wash it? 

Jackets can be washed, however, I do not advise machine washing. I always suggest to hand wash with cool water and I provide a full aftercare sheet with this information.

Can I have multiple pets or additional designs? 

You can pick up to three pets for an adult jacket or two pets for a kids jacket within the large portrait listings, I also offer a miniature portrait jacket for three to five pets. If you have more pets or want any additional designs drop me a message first and I will let you know if this is possible and if there are any additional changes.

Do I have to have a dog or a cat? 

Definitely not – you can have any pet you want so long as you can provide a clear image. I do not offer human portraits though.

What jacket do you use and sizes are available?  

I currently source all of my jackets from ASOS and use their own brand – there are a few options of these jackets and I can send them to you before placing an order. Jackets are in UK sizing from a UK 4-32 with petite and tall versions also available although only sizes UK 8-18 are listed so please message for any jackets outside of this range.

Are the jackets unisex? 

I regularly paint jackets for both men and women, there are specific jackets available in male and female cuts.

What photos do you need to paint a jacket? 

Clear photos will need to be provided of the pet to paint, at least one clear photo (face forward in natural light) will be needed although numerous photos are better in order to ensure the colouring is accurate. Please do not provide screenshots if possible. The better the photos the better the portrait!!

What paint do you use? 

I use acrylic-based fabric paint that is then heat set to make it durable and resistant. I use a number of brands depending on the colour and I have tested all of these before using them.

Why can't I find jackets in your shop or on Etsy? 

Jackets may be sold out if you can't find them available – I sell through Etsy and my shop and only have a limited number available per week across both platforms. If jackets are out of stock come back on Sunday as I relist them each week. Send me a message if you're unsure about availability.

I don’t have a pet, can you paint any other jackets? 

Yes! If you have any ideas for a custom jacket send me a note, I love to work on any custom designs and will let you know if it is possible. As mentioned above though I do not paint human portraits!

Can I get a gift card? 

Yes! Gift cards are available in my store.

Do you post worldwide? 

Yes! I can post anywhere globally and you can find shipping costs on each items - I have a flat rate for shipping based on the final basket total. I offer express shipping for an additional charge on jacket orders which will deliver these globally in 1-2 working days, please message before selecting this option if you need the jacket by a certain date.

How are the items shipped? 

Depending on where you are based and the time frame needed items may be shipped with different couriers. Jackets are always sent tracked and signed. For the UK these take 1-2 business days, USA 2-5 working days and other global countries take 5-7 working days. 

All my packaging is recyclable!!!

What if I change my mind about an order? 

You can get a full refund on any order so long as I haven't started painting or printing. Once an item has been customised it cannot be refunded.

Do you have a discount code, multibuy or sale dates? 

I do not have any running discounts or offer multibuy options. If I have any discount codes or planned sales these will be announced on my Instagram @giflynndesign
